The South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute (SCTR)

The South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute (SCTR) will be the catalyst for changing the culture of biomedical research, facilitating sharing of resources and expertise, and streamlining research-related processes to bring about large-scale, change in the clinical and translational research efforts in South Carolina. SCTR will facilitate the kind of cross-disciplinary research that can provide answers to these complex problems by coordinating expertise and resources throughout the state. SCTR will also catalyze the development of teams of researchers with unique and complimentary perspectives who will create and implement effective, culturally sensitive primary and secondary prevention and treatment interventions based on fundamental discoveries.

SUCCESS Center

The SUCCESS Center is the entry portal for SCTR programs and services.  SUCCESS links investigators and research team members to SCTR and other institutional services, cores and programs.  SUCCESS directly provides research navigation assistance, regulatory & recruitment consultation, grant forms assistance, and budget development consultations.  Learn more...

News and Announcements

  • The name of the GCRC has changed to SCTR Clinical and Translational Research Center. They still offer the same great services for clinical researchers.
  • Monthly Lunch-n-Learns will be held on the third wednesday of every month from 12-1 in the Clinical Sciences Bldg Rm 214A. These lunch-n-learns are refresher courses targeted towards all MUSC researchers; additionally, they will also include any updates to campus or national research regulations. We will announce upcoming topics on this page.
  • The new Clinical Trials Registry will be rolled out to the public at the beginnning of February. We will be sending out an email to all investigators with current, IRB approved trials in mid-January with directions and guidelines.
  • January 21st SOCRATES meeting in CSB 628 from 5-6pm.
